KARACHI - Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi chief Hussain Mehanti said that Quetta tragedy relates was a conspiracy against the sovereignty of Pakistan. JI delegation led by Mehanti visited the sit-in protest by Majlish Wahdat-e-Muslimeen and Shia Ulema Council at Numaish Chowrangi, MA Jinnah Road here on Monday Addressing the participants of the sit-in, he said that the Quetta tragedy signified the failure of police, Rangers, FC and other law-enforcement agencies. Quetta blast is judged as enormous Pakistan’s tragedy. Government imposed Governor Rule in Balochistan and despite this act it failed to protect the lives of innocent people and Quetta is still on fire, he added. Mehanti said the JI supported the shutter-down strike on killing of people and the sit-in will continue until the government accepts the demands made by Hazara Community. Talking to the Shia Ulema, Mehanti said that the government and LEAs had failed. During the last 25 years, violence in Karachi has ruined the peace of the metropolis. Mehanti announced that the JI with the coordination of Ulema from different schools of thoughts will hold a conference for bringing lasting peace. JI leader Nasrullah Shaji said the terrorist activity proved that United States and its allies were hatching conspiracies to undermine Pakistan. The country is echoing with bomb blasts but government has yet not made any security plan to ensure the safety of the people.
