KARACHI - Majlis-e-Wahdat Muslameen (MWM) Pakistan deputy secretary general Allama Ameen Shaheedi said that energy crisis has made it difficult for people to take a sigh of relief, adding that development was badly affected because of power outages. He said resolving the problems should be of the highest priority of the elected government instead of adding to the masses problems they should find quick and easy solutions and treat energy crises as an emergency. He said that due to prolonged and unscheduled load-shedding people were suffering hardships while non-availability of water added to the woes. Shaheedi alleged that provincial and central governments were busy in political point scoring, playing the blame game and not paying heed to resolving energy crisis. He lambasted that the government policies were anti-poor adding that people had lost trust in the democratic system. He said he feared anarchy if the crises prevailed longer, saying these crises could derail democracy in the country.
