Bank robbers make off with Rs1.8 million

KARACHI – Unidentified robbers made off with Rs 1.8 million from a bank within the remit of the Nazimabad Police Station on Wednesday.

Police officials said as many as three armed bandits barged into the bank and held staffers and customers hostage. The robbers also took away weapons they snatched from security guards of the bank, the officials said, adding that the guards had been taken into custody for questioning.
They also said that the surveillance cameras installed at the bank were out of order. A case has been registered against the unidentified bandits, however.
