‘Action’ ordered against criminals

KARACHI - All preventive, precautionary and proactive measures be taken to promptly maintain law and order in Sindh particularly in Karachi, and lives and properties of people be protected from criminals, target killers and extortionists.

Presiding over law and order meeting on held at the Chief Minister House, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah directed the police, Rangers and law-enforcement agencies to take strict action against the criminals across the board without considering affiliation with any political, religious or other party.
He also directed that permanent check posts be established in disturbing areas so as to curb the menace of criminals together with proper vigilance and check on anti-state elements. The CM also directed that extensive patrolling of police/rangers and snap checking with thorough vigilance be ensured.
Qaim also emphasised the need that there should be no discrimination of criminals belonging to any group or party, and criminals, target killers, extortionists be taken into task. He also stressed the need that there must be some substantial evidence, before sending the case in courts.
Qaim directed that police, rangers and law-enforcement agencies should try to curb the criminals. He added that LEAs have to control the wave of crime with iron hand so as to retain complete peace. On the occasion, Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, Sindh Chief Secretary Raja Muhammad Abbas ACS (Home) Waseem Ahmed, IGPolice Sindh Fayyaz Ahmed Leghari, Deputy DG Rangers Brig Muhammad Rafique Khan Additional IG Police Karachi Iqbal Mehmood, A.I.G. Police (CID), heads of various agencies, and all
DIG’s of the police presented detailed reports about law and order.
They assured that all out efforts will be made to curb the activities of criminals. The IGP informed that besides arrest of some sensitive criminals, today four dacoits were killed during an encounter at a house in Gulshan-e-Iqbal. He said that in all 109 police men have been martyred, out of which 88 have been martyred in Karachi. He said that during the month of October 2012, 158 persons were killed in Karachi. He said that there was decline in road/highways robberies.
