KARACHI - Kanza Bushra Choudhry of DHA Degree College for Women secured first position in the B.Sc. (Pass) Part II/Both Parts Annual Examination 2011.The University of Karachi announced the result on Friday. Kanza obtained 1,386 marks out of the total of 1,600 marks.Tasneem Amir Ali of St. Jospeh’s college for Women remained second with 1,112 marks out of the total of 1,400 marks.The third position went to Ayesha Jabeen of BAMM PECHS Government College for women with 1,262 marks out of the total of 1,500.According to statistics, 3,208 candidates appeared in the examination and the pass percentage remained at 28.30.Meanwhile, a ‘Youth Mobile Skills Development Programme’ of worth Rs 15 million has been initiated to impart technical training to youngsters in the backward areas of the province.This was stated by the Sindh Minister for Youth Affairs, Syed Faisal Ali Subzwari, here on Friday while performing the inauguration of this programme.
The Minister informed that in the past four years the Department of Youth Affairs has completed the projects worth Rs 443 million. He said that professional training courses had been arranged for youngsters all over the province.Subzwari said every year training is provided to about 5,000 youth and 50 percent of them get suitable employment opportunities. This speaks of the performance of the Youth Affairs Department, he added.Sindh Secretary Youth Affairs, Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui, said that for making headway acquisition of higher education is essential. Director Youth Affairs, Khurshid Ahmed Shaikh, also spoke on the occasion.
