Agencies blamed for violence on Love for Prophet (PBUH) Day

KARACHI – JI central leader and former MPA Muhammad Younus Barai alleged that agencies were involved in violence during peaceful protests against the blasphemous film in Karachi and parts of the country.

According to a statement, Barai said the situation in Karachi was totally peaceful and after offering Friday prayers, protestors took to streets to stage their protest peacefully. He alleged that different agencies extortionists and other vested interests engineered violence that claimed many lives besides loss to property. He said the violence was meant to tarnish the image of religious and political parties, protesting against the anti-Islam movie. He announced to organise another rally in Karachi on Sunday (today). He said the rally to be led by JI Secretary General Liaquat Baloch would be totally peaceful. He said that new winds of change were blowing in Pakistan and voluntary participation of Pakistani masses in big demos, protests and rallies from Gilgit to Karachi show that Pakistani people now recognise their friends and foes.
