4-kg prohibited chemical found from aircraft

KARACHI - Pakistan Customs’ Drug Enforcement Cell on Thursday recovered 4-kg prohibited chemical from an aircraft of Pakistan International Airline.

According to the spokesperson, the Drug Enforcement Cell  staff of the Jinnah International Airport, Karachi in coordination with Pakistan International Airline Security recovered and seized about 4-kg crystalline “Amphetamine” which the underground drug mafia had clandestinely concealed in private cavities of toilets in a PIA aircraft which was ready to take off for Lahore. 
The aircraft had reached Karachi after operating on different domestic and international sectors including Far Eastern destinations where the seized crystalline chemical fetches handsome amount in underground market.
The chemical, also known as “ICE” when seized from aircraft toilets was packed in cloth belts which could be tied around waists by passengers operating for drug gangs. The recovered stuff is a prohibited chemical under counter-narcotics laws of the country.
