ASWJ leader escapes murder attack

KARACHI - A central leader of the Ahl-e-Sunnat Wal Jamaat, formerly known as outlawed Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan, Maulana Aurangzeb Farooqui was escaped in a murderous attack at Qayyumabad Bridge in Korangi area on Tuesday.
Ahl-e-Sunnat Wal Jamaat spokesman Maulana Taj Hanfi said that Maulana Farooqui was on the way to Baldia Town to attend the organisation’s conference from his home in Landhi area when at least two armed men opened indiscriminate fire at his vehicle.
Maulana Taj Hanfi said that Maulana Farooqui remained safe in the attack while his security guard namely Salahuddin was injured after he fell down from the vehicle while restored to firing in retaliation.
Police officials were not aware of the attack till the filing of the report.
