ANP restores alliance with PPP

KARACHI - Awami National Party Sindh lawmaker Ameer Nawab has announced to restore alliance with Pakistan People’s Party in the Sindh government.
In a statement issued here, former provincial labour minister Nawab said that the ANP was not taken into confidence over the deliberations pertaining to the new law of local government that compelled us to resign from the ministry and shifted seats to the opposition in Sindh Assembly. He said that the restoration of the Local Bodies Act 1979 by the PPP government had eliminated our reservations and we announce to re-establish our alliance in Sindh government. He further stated that he took charge of the Provincial Labour Minister.
Talking to The Nation, ANP Sindh leader Basheer Jaan told that ANP left the ministry and Sindh government over injustice to the people of Sindh and that PPP did not take the ANP into confidence before the approval of the local government ordinance.  He said that PPP govt’s restoration of LB Act 1979 had removed our reservation but still wait for the decision of the standing committee in this regard.
Jaan further told that a meeting of standing committee would be held on 28 February to discuss the new developed situation in the province and it is expected that soon committee’s decision would be announced.
