KARACHI – The Karachi Water & Sewerage Board has requested seminaries to use water conservatively and also pay their water bills regularly. In a statement issued here Sunday, KWSB Managing Director Misbahuddin Farid requested religious scholars, in-charges of mosques and imambargahs and administrators of religious institutions to ensure that water was not wasted during ablution process. Referring to a Hadith he said that, Hazrat Abdullah Bin Umer (RA) states, "Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H) walked past Hazrat Saad (RA) while he was performing Wado. Prophet (PBUH) said to Hazrat Saad (RA) what waste is this? When Hazrat Saad (R.A.) asked if the water is wasted during Waddo? Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said yes, even if you are performing Waddo on a stream. Misbahuddin Farid said that during a survey it was discovered that 95 per cent of the mosques, religious institutions and imambargahs did not pay their water bills. He appealed to religious scholars, in-charge of mosques and Imambargahs and administrators of religious institutions to check if they were consumers of the KWSB and in case their mosques, institutes or imambargahs were not registered, they might contact the deputy managing director (RRG) for registration.He said that “our religion also preaches us to avoid wastage and other such practices”. He also requested religious scholars, in-charge of mosques and imambargahs and administrators of religious institutions to place Hadiths, stickers and statements against the wastage of water at the Waddo area.He directed he DMD (RRG) to ensure that in-charge of mosques and imambargahs and administrators of religious institutions did not face any problem during the registration process and measures must be taken for their assistance during the process. He said the D.M.D (RRG) could be contacted at 99245142 for registration.He also appealed to the citizens to avoid wasting water since using it lavishly lead to its shortage. He said by avoiding wastage of water, the supply could be made better.
