KARACHI - Intercity Transporters on Monday blocked Main Super Highway against Nawabshah incident which claimed eight lives.According to details, enraged transporters continued their protest against the killing of coach driver and passengers of the bus. They demanded protection to the transporters across the country.Transporters had also staged protest at MA Jinnah Road against the said incident and had announced to block Super Highway if their demands were not fulfilled.They demanded Rs one million compensation to the heirs of the deceased, Rs 0.5 million to the injured and proper security plan to the transporters.On Monday, the transporters blocked the Main Super Highway for almost two to three hours near Karachi toll plaza. They chanted slogans against the worst law and order situation and failure of security forces.Transporters also cited the role of police and other security forces over their failure to control the law and order situation. They said the nationalists were still giving warning to attack on intercity buses but government seems reluctant to take any action against such kind of criminal elements. It is pertinent to mention here that Sindhu Desh Liberation Army has claimed responsibility of attack and termed the incident as revenge of killing Muzaffar Bhutto, leader of JSQM, and attack on Mohabbat Sindh rally. Following the protest, gridlock was observed on Superhighway where intense traffic jam was witnessed while police high-ups reached and dispersed the crowed after negotiations.
