At least five people were killed in separate incidents of violence in different parts of Karachi.

According to police, some unidentified persons entered a house in Korangi No 4 and shot dead a couple and their nephew while another man was severely injured.
In Malir, a tailor named Muzammil was shot dead for not paying extortion money while a youth was gunned down near New Sabzi Mandi.
In other incidents of violence, four people were injured while resisting robbery attempts in Sarjani and Malir localities of the city.
Meanwhile, East Range police have arrested 25 persons while seven persons were arrested during operations in Malir Khokara Par and Sir Syed Town areas. Police also recovered arms and drugs from accused. Predy Police have also arrested seven extortionists.
On the other it was revealed that now the extortion money is being collected on phone calls from other countries. According to sources, more than 200 people have received phone calls from other countries to pay extortion money.
