IGP chairs meeting on investigations

KARACHI - Sindh Inspector General of Police, Fayyaz Ahmed Leghari on Saturday presided over a meeting to review the progress in investigation and pursuance in the courts of law of the cases especially high profile ones.

The meeting held in Central Police Office was attended by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Headquarters Sindh, Assistant Inspector General (Operations) Sindh and all Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) Investigation of the province. The Inspector General of Police directed the SSPs to ensure their presence in the courts of law during hearings of all important/high profile cases.
 In other cases as well, the concerned investigation officers not only be present in the courts during hearings but utilise their professional skills with all sincerity to make the investigation process very credible and help the courts in awarding due punishment to the criminals.
He warned the police officers that no negligence in the investigations and in pursuance of the cases in courts would be tolerated.
He directed that since registration of first information reports (FIRs) of cases up to conclusion of court proceedings, the police officers should play very active and professional role. This would help contain all kind of crimes in the society.
