KARACHI - The Karachi Board of Intermediate Education on Friday has announced the pre-medical group part-II result of annual examination 2013 in which the government institutions have grabbed the top positions. Girls again outshone boys in the examination, while only one lad of Adamjee Govt Science College secured the second position.
Examination Controller Imran Khan Chishti announced the results during a ceremony at the board auditorium. Chairman Prof Anwar Ahmed, Secretary Haider Ali Naveen and teachers were also present. In the pre-medical group, Maliha Saleem of Govt College for Women topped with 988/1100, followed by Syed Hamza Bin Waqas of Adamjee Govt Science College with 985 and Noreen Shahid of Govt College for Women with 984 marks.
A total of 18,395 candidates were registered while 18,166 appeared and 9,595 declared successful with pass percentage of 52.82. A total of 1089 candidates got A-One grade in the exam, 2595 passed in A, 2840 in B Grade, 2190 in C Grade, 848 in D grade and 33 candidates declared pass in E grade.
Home Economics Results
As per results of home economics, Maliha Tahir of Raana Liaquat Ali Khan College for Home Economics obtained first position with 947 marks out of 1200, Afifa Norr of the same college got the second with 945 marks and Aniqa Zainab of the same college procured third with marks 944.
A total of 350 candidates were registered in the exams out of them 341 appeared, while 211 candidates announced successful with total pass percentage of 61.88.
On the other hand, not a single candidate got A-One grade in the exam, although 31 candidates passed in A, 70 in B grade, 79 in C grade and 31 declared to be passed in D grade.
