KARACHI - A prayer ceremony was held here the other day for the martyrs of Gyari sector of Siachin. On the occasion, a 60 pound candle was especially prepared by a 12-year-old boy Muqadam Khan. The youngster, attired in a military outfit, also lit the huge candle in front of the audience that included school boys and girls and youngsters from Make-a-Wish Pakistan.

As many as 139 lamps were also lit by the youngsters and others in memory of the officers and Jawan of Pakistan Army who embraced martyrdom in Gyari sector. Muqadam Khan said that he prepared the biggest candle to honour and pay tributes to the Shaheeds.
Renowned television artist Shakeel and Ishtiaq Baig, founder president of Make-a-Wish Pakistan, in their speeches paid rich tributes to the officers and Jawans of Pakistan Army and recounted their services for the cause of Pakistan.
The participants of the ceremony recited the national anthem and ‘Dua’ was also offered for the Shaheed of Gyari sector.
