LAHORE – Residents of Shahdara staged protest demonstration against the excessive loadshedding in their area and ransacked the Lesco office and Ravi Toll Plaza.
The protesters burnt tyres at GT Road to show their anger against the government and power mangers and kept traffic blocked for at least two hours at main Shahdara Chowk. There was a complete traffic mess in the area.
The protesters said their lives had turned into hell due to 16-hour loadshedding. Their businesses were ruining and they were facing severe mental disturbance due to unscheduled and prolonged shutdown, they complained. The protesters said rulers were badly failed to provide relief to the people.
Meanwhile, a local TV reported that two people were hurt when factory workers in Faisalabad protested against outages.
