‘Drug addict’ commits suicide

LAHORE – A 26-year-old man committed suicide by hanging himself with a ceiling fan at his residence in the South Cantonment police precincts on Wednesday.
A resident of Bhatta Chowk, Muhammad Nadeem was hanging from the ceiling fan with a rope tied to his neck when the police investigators reached the crime scene.
The deceased’s family told the police that Nadeem was a drug addict who committed suicide because of extreme poverty. The police handed over the body to the family without autopsy.
Meanwhile, a pickpocket stabbed his accomplice to death in the Tibbi City area late on Wednesday night and fled away. Police said that Moazzam Khan stabbed his accomplice Muhammad Nawaz to death during the scuffle that erupted over the share of looted money. The police have removed the dead body to the morgue and are investigating.
