LAHORE – A division bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday sought reply from the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) for third week of November on an application against early admissions in private medical colleges.
Judicial Activism Panel Chairman Muhammad Azhar Siddique has moved the application in his already pending constitutional petition challenging charging of high fee by private medical colleges.
The petitioner said that some private medical educational institutions in Punjab had initiated the admission process in violation of the law. He contended that the admission process should start with public medical colleges but so far none of them had invited applications for admission.
Siddique alleged that the admission process was initiated by the private medical colleges only to mint money. “The admission process initiated by the private medical colleges is not only illegal but also in violation of PMDC rules and regulations,” he added.
