Special squad seizes substandard suture material

LAHORE – A special squad on Friday confiscated 1,000 packets of substandard and unregistered suture material and arrested two people from Lohari area.
The suture material is used for stitching internal organs of patients and substandard material can cause infection and even death.
The detainees were named as Pervaiz Khan and Umer Javed. Lahore Health EDO Dr Inamul Haq led the squad comprising drug inspector and Lower Mall police.
FOUND DEAD: City police on Friday recovered two dead bodies of men from the Shafiqabad and the Gulshan-e-Ravi police areas respectively. Police said that the men, said to be in their mid 40s, were lying dead alongside the roads in the above-mentioned police precincts. The dead bodies were removed to the morgue for autopsy. The police are investigating.
