LAHORE - Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) starts its special activities in the wake of World Environment Day falling on June 5, 2012. Besides taking active part in the activities by different collaborators, the company has started special cleanliness move in China Scheme union council 16.
The other objective of bag distribution is to spread awareness about cleanliness that will soon be introduced in the area. This area has a population of approximately 50,000 people. All empty plots of the area are being cleaned using modern machinery. In this move more than 22 such plots will be cleaned.
In China Scheme operation cleanliness, 1500 workers are taking part along with modern machinery deployment. Using Albayrak’s machinery, LWMC will be washing all the roads and footpaths in the scheme, waste will be collected from every doorstep and all the waste collected will be transported to dump site in Mehmood Booti.
MNA of the area Mr Pervaiz Malik, Mrs Shaista Pervaiz Malik, MPA Chaudhary Shahbaz, MD LWMC, officials of Albayrak, City Traffic Police, University of Engineering and Technology, Punjab University and representatives of local NGOs will also be present and will monitor the cleanliness operation.
Later on LWMC with the collaboration of University of Engineering and Technology (UET) is arranging a walk for awareness of cleanliness. On the occasion MD LWMC Mr Waseem Ajmal Chaudhary will be the chief guest, the university will be given waste bins by the company and its sister concern Albayrak. All necessary arrangements have been completed for the campus clean up.
