According to an official handout, the Punjab chief minister paid for the tickets and also talked to other passengers, who were surprised to see him among them. Various people, including a student and a government servant, paid tributes to Shahbaz for providing modern facilities of public transport to the masses. They also thanked him for representing their sentiments about the worst-ever loadshedding, and said that they were lucky to have such a ‘Khadim-e-Aala’ who shared their problems and sufferings, the handout further said.
When Shahbaz was presiding over a meeting to review the measures for supplying drinking water to the people during loadshedding, suddenly the electricity went out and the fans at the tent office stopped working. Thereafter, the chief minister, elected representatives and officers used hand- made fans to counter extreme heat and suffocation, the handout said.
Also, Shahbaz has expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the sad demise of the mother of former Federal Secretary Tariq Mahmood.
In his condolence message, the Punjab chief minister prayed that may Allah Almighty rest the departed soul in eternal peace, and grant courage and strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss with equanimity.
