LAHORE – Punjab Health Department is all set to launch three-day Polio Immunization Campaign from Monday (today) with the collaboration of World Health Organization (WHO).
Contradicting reports of shortage of polio vaccine, WHO spokesperson made it clear that all the necessary arrangements have been made for the success of immunization campaign. She said that start of campaign has clearly suggested that vaccine in required quantity was available.
“There is no shortage of vaccine and all the children up to five years of age will be administered polio drops”, she said.
In Lahore, 64 special enforcement teams headed by Magistrates are being constituted for the implementation of anti-polio drive. Control rooms are set up in every town which will be directly connected with central control room at DCO office. During anti-polio drive, 6000 CDGL officials along with health department teams will administer polio drops to 136865 children under the age of five years.
