Polls be held under army’s supervision: Musharraf

LAHORE – All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) Founder Pervez Musharraf, while proposing that fair and transparent elections are the only panacea to the problems facing the country, has demanded that the upcoming general elections be held under the supervision of the army with a neutral caretaker set up in place.
Musharraf expressed these views while addressing party leaders and activists in the provincial capital on Sunday. Without giving a date for his return, the former president claimed that he would be back in the country before the upcoming general elections.
Musharraf said that the entire nation was on the streets because of the unprecedented loadshedding, which had not only made the life of common people miserable but also paralysed the economy.

He further said that no relief was provided to the masses in the next federal budget, adding that people were committing suicides because of price-hike and unemployment.
Musharraf urged the masses to vote out corrupt elements in the upcoming general elections, and elect honest and upright candidates.
