LAHORE: A 25-year-old owner of a printing press succumbed to bullet wounds a day after he was shot at and wounded on offering resistance during a robbery attempt in the Lower Mall area. Police on Tuesday handed over the body to the deceased family after the autopsy. Resident of Touheed Nagar, Atif Sattar was working at the printing press when two robbers forced their entry and held him up at gunpoint.
As the father of two children offered resistance, the bandits shot at and wounded him and fled away after collecting cash and valuables worth tens of thousands of rupees.
Drowned: A 35-year-old man drowned in the canal when he was taking a bath in the Harbanspura area. Rescuers on Tuesday recovered the body of Rashid Ahmed from the canal in the limits of Sundar police. The family told the police that Rashid had been suffering from epilepsy. Police say they believe the patient suffered epilepsy attack and drowned instantly.
Killed: A 55-year-old woman, yet to be identified, was crushed to death by a rashly-driven car at the Ferozepur on Tuesday. Police said that the woman was crossing the road when a recklessly-driven car ran over her outside the Lahore General Hospital.–Staff Reporter
