The commissioner issued these instructions while listening to the complaints of Nishter Town residents at an open court at Nishter Town Office on Saturday.
A total of 55 complaints were lodged to the commissioner, mostly relating to faulty sewerage system, non-availability of water, installation of new tube-wells, cleanliness, cattle eviction, jobs and education department.
The commissioner expressed concern over the fact that most of the complaints pertained to Wasa and the PHA. He cautioned Wasa and PHA authorities to depute their officials in different areas of the Nishter Town, while a report be submitted to the Commissioner’s Office after the redress of complaints.
The commissioner, taking action on the complaint lodged by a resident of Kot Mela Ram in the Nishter Town area regarding stagnant water in the graveyard and non-existence of boundary wall, directed the in-charge of the Nishter Town graveyard to adopt effective measures for the immediate construction of the boundary wall of the graveyard and the drainage of stagnant water.
Similarly, a resident of Township complained about the non-availability of fair price shops and non-displaying of banners at Ramazan Bazaars in Township. On this, the commissioner ordered Nishter Town TMO to set up fair price shops and ensure display of banners at stalls in Ramazan Bazaars, so that the consumers might easily purchase essential items of daily use.
