Conveyance allowance revised

LAHORE – The Punjab government on Tuesday notified revised conveyance allowance for the government employees of BPS-1 to BPS-19. The ratio of the increment is up to hundred per cent.

As per notification, the government employees from BPS1 to BPS-4 could draw 1700 instead of Rs 850 while BPS-5 to BPS-10 Rs 1,840 instead of earlier Rs 1,150. The employees working in the BPS-11 to BPS-15 could be able to get Rs 2,720 instead of Rs 1700 while the gazetted officers BPS-16 to BPS-19 could get Rs 5000 instead of Rs 2480.
The notification also made it clear that the allowance will be permissible with effect from July 2012. The arrears will be given to the employees in three quarterly instalments. The first instalment will be July to September 2012, the second from October to December 2012 while the third one January to march 2013. it is also noted that the first instalment will be given along with pay of December, second with pay of March 2013 and the third one with pay of April 2013.
It is clarified that who had not been sanctioned officials vehicles and availing vehicles of the transport pool are entitled to the conveyance allowance subject to the condition that they do not use these vehicles for travelling from house to office and vice versa. It is further clarified that employees who are resident in residential colonies situated within the work premises are not entitled to the said facility.
