POL price hike: LHC seeks reply from govt on March 16

The Lahore High Court (LHC) Monday issued notice to the federal government on plea filed against the recent hike in prices of petroleum products.

The plea launched by Judicial Activism Panel, states that a petition was lodged earlier on the raise in the POL prices seeking the government to unravel the record of revenues accrued under the head of taxes; however, the requisite details were not received as yet and the prices were further nudged up in March yet again.
The petitioner prayed to the court to take immediate steps to retract the recent hike in the prices. The court sought rejoinder from the federal government on March 16.
