Police put on high alert

LAHORE – In the wake of Karachi bombings, police put on high-alert across the province particularly in Lahore to maintain law and order as additional cops are deployed around the sensitive areas and key government installations.
Acting Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khan Baig told TheNation on Monday that the police were put on high-alert across the province soon after the terror strike in the port-city on Sunday evening. The police are ordered to step up armed patrolling in the sensitive and most sensitive areas while all the
Police sources said snap-checking at the all the entry and exit points of the City was intensified while heavy police contingents were alerted around the public places to keep a vigilant eye on the activities of the miscreants.
A police official said that security of the Metro-Bus system was also increased while police are carrying out strict checking of the passengers at all the stations of the new-launched state-of-the-art transport service in the provincial metropolis.
