LAHORE - The urban cleanliness and solid waste management systems are likely to bring the old neighbours together for the improvement in urban planning and its positive impacts on environment. 
A four-member delegation came to Lahore on a three-day visit for studying the Lahore waste management company model on directions of deputy Chief Minister Indian Punjab Sukhbir Singh Badal.
The LWMC officials received the delegation on Wahga Border. The delegation headed by Indian Punjab Local Govt IAS Principal Secretary Jagpal Singh Sandhu.
The municipal experts visited the LWMC office where they were given thorough briefing on the operations of the company. They were given a presentation by the LWMC Managing Director Waseem Ajmal Chaudhry while member board of directors Ahmed Rafay Alam and other company executives were also present on the occasion.
The delegation also visited various departments of the company and appreciated the use of information technology in cleaning operations such as Vehicle Tracking Monitoring System, 24/7 active helpline and coverage of cleaning operations via android technology. 
The delegation visited Ozpak’s workshop to see state-of-the-art machinery and its maintenance by the Turkish contractors.
Later, the delegation travelled on Metro Bus from Qaddafi Stadium to Azadi Chowk. They witnessed cleaning operations on MBS tracks and terminals maintained by the LWMC and lauded company’s efforts. The delegation desired to replicate this system in Indian Punjab too.
