The waste management experts from ISTAC visited Ravi Road areas in order to monitor and evaluate the modern sanitation work going on in the area with the consultation of Turkish contractors. A three member team of waste management consultants is visiting Lahore from 1st to 6th October, with a focus on awareness and public participation work of LWMC. The delegation comprises of Ahmed Amin Yildrum, Volkan Ench and Zafer Karasacali.
In regard with awareness and communication work overview, the team visited Moon Public School, Ravi Road, where an awareness session with the class six students was held. LWMC’s communication and operations officers were also present on the occasion. Turk experts delivered lectures on the importance of hygiene and cleanliness with special regard to measures needed to be taken by citizens on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha. Turk delegate answered the queries of students during an interactive session. The students expressed pleasures on finding Turk experts among them and admired their efforts of providing Lahorites a modern system of cleanliness. The principal of Moon Public School, Mohammad Riaz thanked Turk guests for selecting his institution for their visit and imparting education on cleanliness issues.
The head of delegation Ahmed Yuldrum led communication team and students in a door to door awareness move and distributed pamphlets and waste bags among residents. People in the locality expressed satisfaction on the performance of LWMC while talking to ISTAC members.
