LAHORE – The City received downpour on Tuesday with experts predicting partly cloudy weather and more rains during the next couple of days.
The rains, cloudiness and windy conditions provided much needed respite to the Lahorites from the prevailing muggy weather. The respite, however, was short lived as weather again turned muggy after the stoppage of rains.
The rains added to the woes of motorists and pedestrians as rainwater inundated on portions of roads and roadsides. Inundated rainwater and slippery conditions caused massive traffic jams on a number of important roads.
On Tuesday, maximum and minimum temperature in the City was recorded 33 degree Celsius and 25 C respectively. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded 78 per cent.
According to the experts, seasonal low lies over Balochistan and adjoining areas. Strong Monsoon currents are expected to affect most parts of the country during next couple of weeks.
Local meteorological department has forecast scattered rain/thundershower with isolated heavy fall for upper Punjab (Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala and Lahore divisions), upper Khyber PK (Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat divisions) and Kashmir during the next couple of days.
