LAHORE – Public Accounts Committee (PAC-1) Punjab has directed the health department to ensure the auction of public hospital pharmacies following the rules.
The PAC-1 meeting held on Tuesday with its chief Chaudhary Zaheer-ud-Din in the chair, which reviewed the audit paras of health department.
The Committee going through an audit para directed the health department that discretionary powers should be discouraged for auctioning the pharmacies operating in the public hospitals and rules should be followed to carry out this task.
The PAC-1 also directed the health department to take immediate measures for completing all the necessary arrangements for the kidney centre at Sheikh Zayed Hospital to provide medical care to a good number of patients.
The Committee members who attended the meeting include Major (rd) Abdul Rehman, Mehr Ishtiaq, Syed Nazim Hussain Shah and Dr Mukhtar Bharat.
Punjab Health Secretary Captain (rd) Arif Nadeem represented the department.
