FIA officer arrested for molesting woman

LAHORE – An officer of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) was arrested for torturing and sexually assaulting a young woman in the Gulberg police limits, police sources revealed on Tuesday.

Another FIA official and his driver managed to escape from the crime scene as the police investigators raided the Sun-Fort Hotel in the Gulberg police limits late on Monday night.
Sources said that three FIA officials including DSP Naeem, Inspector Ahmed Khan Kirmani and another official, unidentified so far, took a room on rent in the hotel, where they ‘invited’ a young woman.
According to the police, the FIA officers also consumed liquor in huge quantity and assaulted the woman sexually. The woman made hue and cry when officers tortured her over unknown reasons. After listing hue and cry of the woman, someone from the hotel contacted the police in emergency.
The police raided the Sun-Fort Hotel, rescued the woman and arrested Inspector Ahmed Khan Kirmani when he was under the heavy influence of liquor. However, police said that DSP Naeem and his driver managed to escape from the crime scene.
According to sources, the DSP and his driver were also arrested by the police but they were ‘released’ immediately on the intervention of a top officer. The police have registered a case and are investigating.
Robbers shoot watchman dead:  Unidentified motorcyclists gunned down a watchman in the Nolakha police limits and escaped, police said on Tuesday.
The deceased, identified as Ghulam Hussain, was on guard in the Lunda Bazaar when he tried to stop two suspected motorcyclists. The gunmen opened fire at and fled away. The resident of Ferozwala sustained multiple bullet wounds and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced as brought dead. The body was removed to the morgue for autopsy. The police have registered a case against unidentified killers on the complaint of Shahzad, son of the deceased. Further investigations were underway.
Another found murdered after rape: A 22-year-old woman was found murdered from the Ghaziabad police precincts on early Tuesday, police said.
Police investigators suspected that unidentified killer(s) raped the woman before strangulating her to death.
According to the police, the body of the girl, yet to be identified, was lying alongside a road as they reached the spot. Some passersby spotted the body in the Manzoor Colony in the Ghaziabad area limits and contacted the police by phone. The body was removed to the morgue for autopsy. The police are investigating with no arrest made yet.  Crushed: A motorcyclists was crushed to death by a rashly driven car in the Defense police limits on Tuesday.
The deceased, later identified as Shamaon, was on his way home when a recklessly driven car bumped into his two-wheeler in the H-Block Defense. The motorcyclist died on the pot. The police have arrested the car-driver and are investigating.
Found dead: A 45-year-old man was recovered dead from a footpath near the Choburji Chowk on early Tuesday. Police said that the man, yet to be identified, was apparently a drug addict.
