6 cheating cases registered during English exam

LAHORE – English exam for Secondary School Part-II (Class X) (Annual) Examination 2013 was held in all examination centres within the jurisdiction of the Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education under strict vigilance on Tuesday.

It was for the first time that 365 board officials were deputed to supervise the examination centres which thwarted the activities of the ‘Booti Mafia’.
On the direction of board chairman Nasrullah Virk, stern vigilance of centres at Narang Mandi and Sheikhupura was done.
A person named Haris was caught red-handed impersonating a candidate Umair Ilyas, Roll No.30734; after which he was handed over to the police after registering an FIR. Muhammad Hanif, Deputy Secretary Finance of the board, conducted a raid at Government College, Mustafabad (Lalyani) Kasur, and detected three candidates (Roll Nos. 296498, 296501 and 296508) using unfair means; whereas from Hanfia Islamia High School, Kasur, one candidate Roll No.293199 was caught cheating. BISE Secretary Dr Javed Muzaffar Iqbal inspected the examination centres in District Nankana Sahib. During inspection of Government Technical Girls High School, Sangla Hill, he caught two candidates Roll No. 241449 and 241440 cheating with the connivance of Musarrat Mubeen, invigilator. Exhaustive inspection of centres constituted at 49-A Shahrahe Majeed Nizami was done by board chairman and controller of examinations in both the morning and evening sessions.
