LAHORE – The PTI Punjab election commission on Tuesday announced re-polling for party offices tomorrow (March 7) except the positions of City, town, tehsils and district presidents and general secretaries.

The re-polling has been decided after the major groups in the PTI refused to accept the results of the intra-party polls at many of the party seats for Lahore metropolitan and district due to alleged rigging by their opponents and errors in voters’ lists.
The ideological and tsunami change group, besides some independents in the PTI have demanded of the party’s election commission for re-polling on all the party offices of the Lahore metropolitan, towns, tehsils and district itself charging unity group of massive rigging.
However, leaders of ideological and tsunami change said that they had been given a ‘shut up call’ from the party chairman office not to wash their dirty linen in the public and accept what they have been told by the election commission on main party offices, while re-polling would be held on the remaining seats of Lahore.
They maintained that they have been pushed by the top leadership to keep calm over the major misconduct during the intra-party polls, while they would be accommodated during the process of awarding of the party tickets.
Shadab Jafferi, PTI provincial election commission when contacted, confirmed that re-polling would only be held below the party offices of presidents and general secretaries of the City, towns, tehsils and district.
