Gangsters continue looting spree

LAHORE – Gangsters on Friday continued their looting spree in the provincial metropolis and took away cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs2 million besides cars and motorcycles, police sources claimed.
Sikandar Masood Butt, the director of a private firm, was on his way home after withdrawing Rs1.1 million from a bank when two armed bandits riding on a car intercepted him outside his office on Raiwind Road in the Chuhng police vicinity. The robbers held him up at gunpoint and snatched away the cash, a laptop and mobile phone from him.
Similarly, a woman was on her way home when two gunmen riding on a motorcycle stopped her in the Nawan Kot police vicinity. The bandits snatched away cash and gold ornaments worth tens of thousands of rupees from her at gunpoint.
Meanwhile, four motorcycles were either snatched or stolen away from Sabzazar, the Shadman, Green Town and Defence police area. A car was also stolen away from the Township police area.
