LAHORE – Various Shia organisations have joined hands under the banner of ‘Tehreek-e-Bedari Ummat-e-Mustafa’ to counter blasphemy of the Holy Prophet (SAW).
In the first phase of the movement, a congregation titled Ijtima Ummat-e-Rasool (SAW) will be held at Nasir Bagh, to be followed by a rally that would march up to the Punjab Assembly building, said leaders of the Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslemin (MWM) and Imamia Students Organisation (ISO) while addressing a press conference at the Lahore Press Club on Friday.
The press conference was addressed by Abdul Khaliq Asadi of the MWM, Imran Athar of the ISO, Allama Tauqeer Hussain, Nusrat Shahani, Riaz Jafri and Abdi Ali. They expressed serious concern that the US was in full control of Pakistan. They said the entire Ummah had protested against the anti-Islam movie but the rulers had remained indifferent.
The Shia leaders said Muslims must not confine their anger to the producers and actors of the movie but divert their attention and energies towards the real enemy. They said invitations had been sent to all religious parties and seminaries of all schools of thought, besides students, lawyers and scholars, to participate in the Ijtima Ummat-e-Rasool to unite the Ummah against the real enemies of Islam.
