LAHORE - District Coordination Officer (DCO) Noorul Amin Mengal has warned the owners of marriage halls and said they should be closed on the given time and in case of negligence they would have to face consequences as per law.
He directed administrators of all towns to check all marriage halls in their jurisdictions and to ensure their in time closing.
Meanwhile, he directed the price control magistrates to take severe steps to stop price hike, hoarding and profiteering and impose heavy fines and initiate stern action against those shopkeepers who violate concerned laws and rules and regulations.
He expressed these views while chairing a meeting regarding checking the performance of price control magistrates at Town Hall on Wednesday. The DCO stated that he would take severe action against secretary market committees if unhygienic and substandard vegetables or fruits were sold in markets. He also directed to administrators and town municipal officers of all towns to make ensure supply of standardized and control rate essential items in Sunday Bazaars.
On this occasion, he appreciated the performance of three price control magistrates namely Amir Ashfaq TOR Samanabad Town, Abdul Razzaq TOF Samanabad Town and Nisar Ahmed DDO Social welfare. On the other hand, the price control magistrates continued their raids at different shops and inspected 248 shops.
They challaned 56 shops and recovered an amount of Rs 48,900 as fine from their owners while three FIRs were lodged against three shopkeepers due to overcharging and hoarding.
Further, the DCO said Indoor and outdoor surveillance was continuing in all towns of the City and he personally was monitoring the anti-dengue campaign at union council level. He expressed these views in a meeting, chaired by the DCO and Kh Salman Rafique at Town Hall.
He revealed that the coming two months were sensitive as they were considered friendly for the breeding of dengue larva and City District Government Lahore had made up its plan for coming two months. On this occasion, DCO directed administrators to monitor anti-dengue campaign and to ensure the presence of staff.
Meanwhile, the DCO said the CDGL was fully motivated to eliminate polio disease and it was the top priority of the district administration to make this polio campaign successful. He expressed these views while presiding a meeting regarding polio.
He said he would himself monitor the polio campaign which was going to be started from September 10. He directed the EDO (Health) Dr Inamul Haq to ensure that teams of the health department would visit door-to-door and administer the drops to the children below the age of 5 years in each area of the City.
The DCO said it was his responsibility to provide all basic and necessary facilities to the butchers in newly established Bakar Mandi at Shahpur Kanjran. He expressed these views in a meeting with animal vendors, dealers and butchers of Shahpur Kanjran Bakarmandi.
On this occasion, Additional District Collector (General) Mussarat Jabeen, AC (Riawind) Nadia Saqib were also present. The DCO assured butchers and animal dealers that a mosque, soiling, toilet, slaughter house, water facilities would be provided in new Mandi and he called a meeting of official concerned on Thursday for the purpose.
