LAHORE – PML-N Lawyers Forum on Wednesday announced support Advocate Shafqat Chohan, a presidential candidate in upcoming elections of Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) for the year 2013-14.
President of Lahore chapter of PML-N Lawyers Forum Zafar Gillani called a meeting of members on Thursday (today) at the Karachi Shuhda Hall of the bar to take them into confidence about the announcement.
Talking to media, forum’s information secretary Advocate Mushfiq Ahmed Khan said that they had decided to support Advocate Shafqat Chohan. He said that central president Advocate Naseer Ahmad Bhutta would also chair the Thursday’s meeting.
Advocate Shafqat, Muhammad Shah and Abid Saqi are contesting election for president slot of Lahore High Court Bar Association.
Muhammad Shah belongs to Hamid Khan Group while Abid Saqi is a candidate of Asma Jahangir group of lawyers.
The bar elections have been scheduled on February 23.
