LAHORE – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has summoned National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) deputy director to produce the officials involved in preparation of Computerised National Identity Card (CNICs) of Afghan nationals.

According to an FIA official, eight CNIC were issued by Nadra Lahore Office of Kahna while three were issued by a mobile Van Muredke. An FIA official said on anonymity that the agency had also quizzed an assistant director who had got bail. The passport agent was also freed since no proof of his involvement was found. The FIA has been looking into the matter of issuance of these CINCs and their saved data.
Nadra Operation Deputy Director Babar visited FIA office and assured that the authority will fix responsibility and names of involved officials would be conveyed to agency for further action.
The FIA was also conducting raids for the arrest of travel agent Amanullah who was mastermind of the scam. The arrested Afghans are Abdul Malik, Raiz Muhammad, Muhammad Irshad, Abdul Majeed, Izzat Ullah, Gul Muhammad, Muhammad Ismaeel, Muhammad Anwar, Ali Muhammad, Abudl Khaliq and Muhammad Raza.
