LAHORE – Punjab Health Department has terminated a doctor and suspended another for going on strike and creating hurdles in the provision of health care facilities to the patients. Moreover two Young Doctorr Association leaders were transferred over the issue.

Punjab YDA patron and former president Dr Hamid But has been transferred to Rahim Yar Khan while other key leader Dr Nasir Abbas has been transferred to Attock.
Dr Matloob Warraich, performing duties at Mayo Hospital, has been put under suspension while Dr Tajammal Butt has been terminated for hindering provision of health care facilities. The Punjab YDA has summoned a meeting of general council to devise strategy in the aftermath of departmental action against key leaders.
Last week, the Punjab YDA men attacked Gujranwala DHQ Hospital MS and journalists, wounding them and drawing ire among their colleagues.
