Body formed for regularisation of PIDA employees

LAHORE – Punjab Chief Secretary Nasir Mahmood Khosa has constituted a five-member committee for regularisation of contract services of Punjab Irrigation and Drainage Authority (PIDA) employees in the light of Lahore High Court orders.
Justice Muhammad Khalid Mahmood Khan had directed the Punjab government to regularise the services of PIDA employees within three months in view of two provincial government notifications issued in 2009 and 2010 giving permanent status to the employees up to BPS-18 of other departments.
According to the notification, the chief secretary will head the committee while Secretary Irrigation Khalid Mahmood Chaudhry, Secretary Finance Tariq Mahmood Bajwah, Secretary Regulation Muhammad Ilyas and Secretary Law Abu-ul-Hassan Najmi will be the member of the committee.
The committee will held its meeting on July 19. The notices have been issued to the 148 employees who had approached the LHC for regularisation of their contract services.
