LAHORE - Provincial Election Commissioner Syed Muhammad Tariq Qadri held a meeting with Punjab Chief Secretary Nasir Mehmood Khosa to discuss pre-polls arrangements.
The agenda of meeting was maintenance of law and order, security plan, facilitating monitoring teams, provision of video cameras, transportation of election material and activities of voter education campaign.
The chief secretary told the provincial election commissioner that instructions would be issued to all DCOs, DPOs/ District Administrations to implement the code of conduct strictly as per directions of the Election Commission of Pakistan.
He assured the effective security plan for sensitive polling stations, saying that he had written to all districts for provision of video cameras for sensitive polling stations. He also issued instructions to all districts for reasonable storage place for election material. He also assured the provincial election commissioner for his full support regarding voter education and awareness campaign.
The chief secretary was accompanied by Additional Chief Secretary Punjab Khizar Hayat Gondal, Home Secretary Shahid Khan, IG Punjab Khan Muhammad, Finance Secretary Tariq Bajwa, Secretary Higher Education Department Sohail Shehzad and Secretary Local Govt. Sikander Sultan.
