LAHORE - Additional District and Sessions judge on Wednesday sought comments from Shadman SHO by March 14 on a petition seeking registration of a case against health department secretary and special assistant to CM Khawaja Salman Rafique.
They were allegedly involved in directing police officials to abduct and torture doctors. As per case details, member of Young Doctors Association (YDA) complainant Doctor Muhammad Arif filed a petition contending that on February 10 they were baton charged by already deputed police officials on Jail Road.
He implored the court that they were bundled into police vans and then shifted to lock up of North Cantt police.
He submitted the court that neither the doctors violated the law nor they wanted. He contended the court that it was their democratic right to stage protest but not only baton charged but also kept them in illegal detention but they were detained illegally on Khawaja Salman Rafique’s directions. He told the court that after their release, they approached the concerned police station to get register case against aforesaid accused persons but the SHO did not bother to listen to them. He prayed the court to direct the SHO concerned to register case against above mentioned accused.
