Martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali (RA) tomorrow

LAHORE – The martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali (RA) will be observed across the country including the City on Friday (tomorrow) with religious fervour and reverence amid elaborate security arrangements. Religious organisations will hold seminar and symposia to pay tribute to the fourth caliph of Islam. Several Shia organisations will hold Majlis-e-Aza in various Imambargahs to pay homage to Hazrat Ali (RA).In Lahore, main procession will be taken out from Mubarik Haveli that will culminate at Karbla Gamey Shah after passing through traditional route of Mochi Gate, Bazar Hakeeman, Paniwala Talab, Rang Mehal, and Bhatti Chowk. Heavy contingent of police will escort the procession to avoid any untoward incident. All shops on the route will remain closed throughout the day. Besides using metal detectors and walkthrough gates for security, CCTV cameras will also be utilised. All shops and houses along the procession route would be searched and their doors and windows will remain closed and no one would be allowed to go to the rooftops during the procession. Owners of the houses along the route will ensure that no one other than their family members is allowed inside the house during the procession. All streets and roads along the procession route would be sealed.
