LAHORE – Pakistan Railway Police Inspector General Syed Ibne Hussain has submitted the department reply to Supreme Court in response to an application leveling different types of allegations on senior officers.In reply, the IG Railway has said he is not a junior officer as alleged by applicant. He says currently IG Islamabad Police, Azad Kashmir Police and Gilgit Biltistan Police are also working in Grade-20. Even in other departments including FIA and IG, junior most police officers have been posted as their DGs.The IG claimed, in the reply, that no officer of Grade-18 was supposed to work as Personal Staff Officer (PSO) with him; however, a Sub-Inspector was working as PSO.He defended the appointment of DIG Munir Ahmad Chishti by saying the senior officer was not expelled during the period of former chief minister Pervaiz Elahi but remained posted on top positions in Punjab police.He said former IG railway Syed Asghar Raza Gerdezi was not harassed by him or his subordinate, but a vehicle under his illegal custody was possessed back on the direction of audit team and public accounts committee of national assembly.Syed Ibne Hussain said it was true that his residence was being used as his camp office as per rules because he could not sit in the office round the clock.The IG has also denied other accusations including misuse and pilferage of national exchequer, department resources, misconduct and misuse of authority as well. He pointed out in his report to the apex court that the trend of filing anonymous application against railway police officers had increased at alarming stage and the authorities of the departments had been asked not to entertain such frivolous complaints.Hearing adjourned: An anti-corruption court special judge Khalid Rashid adjourned a post-arrest bail petition of Livestock and Dairy Development (L&DD) officers, including its Director General and Idara-e-Kisan (IK) Chief Executive Officer until today (Thursday).On Thursday when the hearing started, the ACE counsel produced the record. The counsel for IK) Chief Executive Officer Ameeruddin Bukhari argued on bail of the accused in corruption scam. As per the case details, the former L&DD Director General Dr Irfan Zahid, Idara-e-Kisan CEO Ameeruddin Bokhari and other arrested officers filed a bail petition. The counsels for the L&DD officers including Rana Ejaz Advocate, Talib Hussain Baloch, Mansoor Rehman Afridi and others apprised the court that their clients were innocent and the ACE could not prove any link with the embezzlement of funds so the bail be granted.
