Cooperation among South Asian countries vital to fight terrorism: Kaira

Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira has said that cooperation among the South Asian countries is vital to fight terrorism.

Addressing the 8th SAFMA conference here in Lahore on Wednesday‚ he said that cooperation among the regional countries is essential for elimination of terrorism.
He said Pakistan is extending every kind of cooperation to achieve the SAARC objectives.
The minister said that Pakistan is most affected by terrorism as compared to other countries of the region.
He added that both Pakistan and India should march forward cautiously to achieve the objective of peace in the region.
He said that for the achievement of this objective is possible only with broad mindedness.
The Information Minister urged the world community to support Pakistan in war against terrorism‚ rather than resorting to blame game.
Qamar Zaman Kaira said visa policy for journalists among the SAARC should be made easy.
He said “we have to move forward with an open mind as without it we will be in a difficult situation to overcome our difficulties.”
He said South Asia has come to conclusion that the government by people and for the people is the only viable form of good governance.
The Information Minister urged media and civil society to come forward and play their pivotal role in success of the government's struggle against terrorism.
