LAHORE – A laptop distribution ceremony was held at University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) on Wednesday wherein 851 laptops were distributed among high-achiever students of the varsity.
On the occasion, PML-N leader Hamza Shahbaz Sharif was the chief guest. MPs, faculty members and a large number of male and female students were present.
A smart contingent of Punjab police presented a guard of honor to the students. Member Nation Assembly Hamza Shahbaz while addressing the ceremony said that the general elections were a ray of hope for people of Pakistan and the youth will vote for those who rejected corruption and considered national resources a trust of the nation.
He said that those rulers who beg from foreign countries cannot take decisions independently. He said that Punjab government had set up an example of national dignity by renouncing external aid. He said that PML-N was determined to make Pakistan a prosperous and developed country without begging. Hamza Shahbaz said that Punjab government of PML-N had become a role model for the entire country. He said that Punjab government utilised its resources for the people of other provinces facing natural calamities including floods, earthquakes which were a glorious example of brotherhood, unity and solidarity and the role of Punjab as an elder brother.
Hamza said that corruption was rampant in the country and steel mills, PIA and other institutions had been ruined. .
He said the Punjab govt has been serving the masses by taking a number of steps for the destitute including setting up of Endowment Fund, soft loan, provision of 75 thousand acre land to agriculture graduates, sending position holder students on foreign tour etc.
