Missing Imam Masjid not in MI custody, LHC informed

LAHORE – The Military Intelligence (MI) on Friday told the Lahore High Court that the missing ‘Imam Masjid, resident of Sabzazar, was not in its custody.
The Lahore High Court, after the MI’s reply, sought report from Punjab Home Secretary till Feb 23 on petition filed by a citizen Hafiz Abdul Hakeem seeking recovery of his brother Hafiz Abdul Qayyum.
A standing counsel Karamat Ali Awan submitted the reply on behalf of MI and stated that the MI had denied the custody of Mr Qayyum. Meanwhile, Justice Umar Ata Bandial directed the Home Secretary to file report on next date of hearing regarding the whereabouts of Mr Qayyum.
Hakeem contended that Hafiz Abdul Qayyum was kidnapped by seven unknown armed men on Nov 26, 2011 from outside of a mosque located in Sabzazar.
