LAHORE – The goods transporters have criticised the Punjab government for not taking steps to establish a model truck stand in the City. In a statement issued on Sunday, All Pakistan Truck Tarala Motor Owners’ Association said instead of paying high taxes to the provincial govt, they were facing multiple issues.  The government constructed metro bus project but never bothered to address their problems, said the association’s representatives Ch Arshad, Sher Ali, Abdul Majeed, Lala Yasir, Zahid Khan and others.  The two truck stands near Ring Road have lack of basic facilities and district government was not interested to provide any service to transporters, they held.  The association demanded of the Punjab chief minister and Lahore DCO to redress their grievances.
